Veterinary Assistant Training Program

At U.S. Colleges, we offer a comprehensive veterinary assistant training program that provides students with the training and skills needed to be successful in a career as a veterinary assistant in any veterinary office or clinic.

About the Veterinary Assistant Program

Today is the day you can make your dream of working with animals come true! In our veterinary assistant program, you will learn many different topics to provide you with a strong foundation to build upon in any vet’s office or animal clinic.

Each one of the courses that you go through in our veterinary assistant program will provide you with the concepts, terminology, and understanding you need to be the best possible assistant. Our instructors will cover everything with you from office procedures to cleaning kennels and even restraining animals for shots and surgery.

At U.S. Colleges, you will receive instructional in different methods because we believe this helps shape each one of our students. This program uses:

Career Outcomes

The skills and training you learn in our Veterinary Assistant program will prepare you for an entry-level role as a Veterinary Assistant. You may find yourself working in a variety of setting including animal hospitals, veterinary offices, local humane societies, and animal clinics.

About This Program

In our Veterinary Assistant program, you will cover many topics that will include either classroom hours, clinical hours, or a combination of both. The entire veterinary program can be completed in 8 weeks. The program itself includes a total of 260 hours of classroom and externship hours.

All students enrolled in this program will participate in an externship at a local animal clinic, veterinarian’s office, or animal shelter.

You will spend a total of 160 hours in the classroom learning everything you need to about providing excellent animal care. We do require a mandatory 100-hour externship. This externship is your opportunity to put your skills and knowledge to the test and secure yourself a career.
