As a medical administrative assistant, your job is to be the medical secretary. You are responsible to assist the doctors or physicians for all the clerical needs. In this field, you will also be dealing with health insurance companies and patients. To be successful you must know a lot about medical terminology as well as medical law.
In this profession, you will provide assistance to hospital consultants, health service managers or medical researchers. You will help the operations of the office run smoothly. Some of your duties consist of handling all outgoing and incoming correspondence, recording details of patients, updating the filing system, and also working in medical records.
